The complex of the former Benedictine monastery is located in the centre of the village of the same name in the valley of the Loděnice river, approximately 5 km east of Beroun. It is situated in a picturesque position under the high St. John's Rock Wall among the wooded slopes of the valley. At the heart of the area is the St. Ivan's Cave excavated in a travertine rock massif, under which a strong spring of healing water springs. The cave is connected to the rock church of the Virgin Mary and the rock crypt of the monastery. The Church of the Nativity of St. John the Baptist with its bell tower is adjacent to the cave complex.
